Candle Care

At Flamingwik, our candles are designed to create beautiful, intimate environments. Proper candle care helps ensure the best performance while maintaining a safe and enjoyable experience.

Please follow these guidelines when using your candle products.

Wick Care

Always trim the wick to approximately ¼ inch before each burn.

Keeping the wick trimmed helps:

  • promote an even flame

  • reduce smoke and soot

  • extend the life of the candle

If the flame becomes too large or begins to flicker excessively, extinguish the candle, allow it to cool, and trim the wick before relighting.

Burn Time

For best results, burn candles for no more than 3–4 hours at a time.

Allow the wax to cool and fully reset before lighting the candle again. This helps preserve the quality and appearance of the candle.

First Burn

The first burn is important for establishing an even wax pool.

Allow the candle to burn long enough for the melted wax to reach the edges of the container or candle surface. This helps prevent tunneling and promotes an even burn in future uses.

Candle Placement

Always place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface.

Keep candles away from:

  • drafts or strong airflow

  • curtains or flammable materials

  • children and pets

Maintain at least 3 inches of space between burning candles.

Extinguishing Your Candle

Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame.

Avoid using liquids to extinguish candles. Allow the wax to cool completely before moving the candle or trimming the wick.

When to Stop Burning

Discontinue use when approximately ½ inch of wax remains at the bottom of the container.

Continuing to burn a candle beyond this point may cause the container to overheat.

Decorative Candle Holders & Candelabras

When using candles with holders or candelabras, ensure that candles are securely positioned and upright before lighting.

Some decorative pieces may arrive in protective components for safe shipping and may require simple assembly before use.

Always supervise decorative candle displays while they are lit.

Candle Safety Reminder

Never leave a burning candle unattended.
